Judy Paulin, Director

Judy has a genuine desire to help clients to be better informed and strives to communicate research findings to them in an accessible way.

A researcher since 1979, she is a knowledgeable and experienced practitioner of social research and evaluation services.  She is equally adept in the design and use of quantitative and qualitative methods and analysis techniques.

Judy’s career has encompassed employment as a social researcher in a university setting as well as in the public sector.  In 2004 she started operating on a self-employed basis and in 2012 launched Artemis Research NZ Limited.

Her public sector experience includes roles with the Ministry of Health and Department of Justice/Ministry of Justice.  Her last permanent role in the public sector was as Director of the Research and Evaluation Unit in the Ministry of Justice.  Subsequent to this she was Acting Director, at the Crime & Justice Research Centre, Victoria University of Wellington.

Judy has a BSc in pure mathematics (University of Otago, 1975) and a LLB (University of Otago, 1991).

Judy is a member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Evaluation Association and the Australasian Evaluation Society.
